Hi all,

We're excited to invite you to the first meeting of the UQ Metascience and Open REsearch community (UQ-MORE) this Monday at 2pm! This new community is open to researchers from all fields and aims to:

• increase the visibility and discussion of metascience and open research practices
• create a supportive environment where newcomers can learn best practices from experienced peers
• inspire each other to adopt Open Science practices and values
• identify opportunities and pitfalls, and
• provide feedback on policies, infrastructure, and support services

The general format for meetings will be a mixture of journal clubs and talks, with our first meeting featuring a number of lightning talks on projects that members of our community are involved in. This will also be an opportunity to meet others in the space and discuss how this new grassroots community could look moving forward.

The meeting will be in room 217 of the Duhig Building (UQ St Lucia campus) between 2-3pm this Monday. Please let Cooper Smout or Scott MacIntyre know if you'll be attending so we can plan for numbers.
